Do you need a friend?

If there is one constant in this life, it is the need for friendship. Everyone of us a need friends. This is so because deep in us we carry the very DNA threads from of our Creator. We originally were made in the likeness and image of God, He desired for many “sons ” to be brought into being. Sin severed the cord that bound us to the Godhead, and we became the enemies of God. But God original desire, purpose and plan was still intact.

It was in the Incarnation [God becoming flesh] that the way was made that we could once again have harmony, friendship and connection with God. Through what Christ has done we who were once alienated have once again become His friends. Now God is going to ensure that this friendship never ends, so He takes those who are now friends with Him again, and brings them into His family, into His domain, He seals them, secures and sets them eternally into Him self as His very own Sons.

In Christ, the cord has been mended and made eternally secure. Nothing, sin included, can ever separate us again from God. One we accept what Jesus has done, for us, ” WE ARE BOUND ETERNALLY TO HIM BY LOVE STRONG CORD.”

What a great thing!

We are not servants, we have a higher status

John 15:14-15. You are My friends if you do what I command you. 15.  No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not understand what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything I have learned from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will remain—so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.…

We are His friends. But this friendship comes with elevation status, we are appointed [set in place] and given the ability to produce god-like qualities [fruit].

This is the best friendship one can ask for, to be joined in union with God the Father through Christ Jesus, by His Spirit.

Do you need a friend? Look to Jesus. He is the best thing that will ever happen to you.
