If He Ordered, He Will Pay

Today, I’m working on a message for our Thursday Night Bible Study. I had a message prepared, part of a series which I started almost a year ago. But on Monday night during our weekly prayer/study meeting, I was instructed to do another message, which I had not even considered before.

At first, I thought I wasn’t going to be able to finish this message in time, because I was just given a title, a synopsis, and nothing more. For the whole night and most of the day after, I was concerned over whether I would get anything more than what I was given. While I wasn’t worried about having a message ready for the Bible Study session, I was convinced that I was supposed to do what I was given on Monday night…

…and here I am today, with more revelation than I have room or time to include in a 1 hour presentation.

And in this, I am reminded of a very simple, but true lesson. Jesus is a true gentleman. If he orders, he will pay. If there’s anything that he’s told you to do, trust that he will provide.

Genesis 22:13-14 – LITV (Green’s Literal Translation):

13 Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and saw that behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering instead of his son.
14 Abraham called the name of that place the LORD Will Provide. As it is said to this day, “On the LORD’s mountain, it will be provided.”
